nothing worked and this film became only the 20th film which received the F grade. a total zero.
personally I hardly like supernatural ghost stories. the only similar movie I liked was the ring and only the first film not the sequels.
I did not even liked the first grudge but this is even worst.
enough is enough with this genre. no one is scared anymore from boring ghosts.
I dunno why they insist on this kind of horror.
even the resent black Christmas remake although it's supposed to be a slasher it had tons of supernatural horror in it.

The Grudge is a lacklusting reboot to the Grudge series or from the Japanese horror film Ju-On. I remember the first film in 2004 being something different which created a scary atmosphere of a vengeful spirit that never lets go. Sadly, this reboot film lacks scares, terrible at creating a better story, and has a boring direction.
The film's plot follows in 2004 were a lady that was working in Japan in a place that is haunted by a Grudge. She walks out of there, noticing something is following her. She decides to head home in America. In State side, something followed her home. A Year later, a real estate agent Peter (John Cho) and his wife Nina (Betty Gilpin) visit the same house that a family was mysteriously murdered. Only to get a vengeful spirit after them. Then, another couple moves into the house to experience the same thing. Years later, Detective Muldoon (Andrea Riseborough) and Goodman (Demian Bichir) are trying to connect these murders and what is the cause. Which they discover it is not the house that is haunted but an angry spirit that attaches itself from one person to another.
The plot tries to expand from the original movie. Which might as well be a connection to the original. As characters bring the vengeful spirit into a new house in America. Which the film follows several characters in different time lines and their encounter with this mysterious spirit. The script lacks in delivering interesting characters as well. The performances could have been better but they are all forgettable with their roles. Andrea Riseborough and Demian Bichir characters are dull. John Cho and Betty Gilpin are are forgettable. There is that famous Grudge shower scene with Cho as he brushes his hair and a creepy hand looks like it is grabbing his head. Lin Shaye was the only decent performance playing a mentally unstable lady.
The film's direction is boring. It had some brief scary moments and tone. Majority of the movie is just flat out boring and dull. It has some cheap scares of things popping out on screen which was nothing new. This is another terrible reboot like 2017 Rings which was worse.
Overall, The Grudge was not good. The story is terrible. The script sucked at delivering characters. The direction lacked in scares and thrills. You will be on for one slow and boring horror ride.

I'm a fan of The Grudge(2004) it's actually the scariest movie I've seen.I think Kayako Saeki is the best spirit/ghost in horror movies,she's slow yet you can't escape her,you don't really know how she kills her victims and she's like a virus who keeps moving on without being able to stop unfortunately the case is different,jumpscares are overused but in the 2004 version the scariest scenes for me didn't involve any 's such a shame to see that it's fallen into this horror movie trend today of overusing Raimi also changed the story and made it into more of a zombie type but i guess every zombie makes the weird noise that Kayako makes even though it was explained in the 2004 that Sam Raimi also got rid of Toshio and added another creepy girl with long very talented cast which is why I'm so disappointed though the policewoman needs to learn how to hold a gun.I wouldn't recommend this if you're a fan of the older movies,better to just rewatch them.

The Invisible Life of Euridice Gusmao is a melodrama that gives the audience a look at Brazilian culture during the 1950s and what life was like for most women under the patriarchal society that often made them struggle to succeed. What captured my attention from the outset were the spectacular set design and the period costumes that accurately depict life from that time. The production team, particularly director Karim Aïnouz and producer Rodrigo Teixeira, have my ultimate respect in nailing those aspects so accurately. This film entertained and educated me about that period of time and its culture, which are very unique characteristics I don't often see, but love.
The film is about two inseparable sisters living in Rio de Janeiro during the 1950s, that live under their conservative parents' strict guidance. Even though both sisters are involved in the traditional life that surrounds them, Euridice wants to become a renowned pianist and Guida wants to find true love. When their father separates them and makes them live apart from each other, they work to meet their goals, while hoping that they can reunite one day and celebrate life together, since they are each other's support and joy.
My favorite scene is when Euridice carefully covers for Guida's secret nighttime outings to dance clubs with a Greek sailor. She encourages her sister to not give in to their parents' strict lifestyle and proposes that they should expose themselves to experiences that will fill them with happiness.
The important message that I learned from this film is the importance of how women have fought for their place and equality within a patriarchal society. Before, women were submissive to the patriarch, but as time has passed, society has realized what a huge injustice was being made and corrected the social forms. This movie is very big on showing how times were different back then for women and how thankful we all must be that a turn was made. Young women like Euridice and Guida struggled from an early age to find happiness. I rate this movie 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 13 to 18, plus adults.

Eu esperei muito tempo PQP HYPE NAS ALTURAS AQUI. Tu viu Joy. representante eliminado da Áustria no Oscar? Eu achei muito bom, atriz estreante excepcional. Sobre prostituição de nigerianas na Europa, o roteiro não tão mastigadinho me encantou.

Uma fétida lixeira. Legal gostei. Tem Gregório Duvivier no elenco? Obrigado, passo! Next. Esses filmes do Karim são excelentes! Infelizmente não chega ao grande público, cada vez mais fechado nos blockbusters, que só apresentam mais do mesmo. Enfim, verei este no cine alternativo do Frei Caneca.

Ainda não vi o longa mas espero que estreie em breve no cinema local. Parece mais lirico que Bacurau portanto elegivel para os padrões da academia de Hollywood.
